Huawei provides LTE and WIMAX equipment to the Centre of Excellence for Wireless Applications

Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network and ICT solutions for customers around the world, has announced a decision to support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Centre of Excellence for Wireless Applications (CEWA) laboratory with LTE and WIMAX equipment.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed ibn Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel, President of the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology at the King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology said, “The Centre aims to provide expertise and advisory services to telecommunications companies, governments, providers of telecommunications equipment and regulators of the telecommunications sector. This is possible if the technology available at the centre is the latest and most advanced. Huawei has made this possible with the provision of the latest telecommunication technology for all applications. We appreciate this support and look forward to a continued relationship with Huawei as a key technology leader in the region.”
 
Huawei as a leader in technology in the Middle East expressed their contribution and commitment to develop the skill sets of the region's future generations for the new knowledge economy.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sheng Kai, Country General Manager for Saudi Arabia, Huawei said “We are delighted to contribute towards the Centre of Excellence for Wireless Applications vision. As a testament to our continued support to improving telecommunication in the region, it is our pleasure to announce that Huawei’s provision of the most advanced wireless technology, the Long Term Evolution (LTE) will be implemented in the lab.”   
 
The center's key capabilities include offering expertise and consultative services to operators, governments, vendors and regulators to drive wireless applications and provide performance labs to evaluate and optimize wireless networks. In addition, CEWA is heavily geared toward research and development and offering managed services.
